Dana Nielsen to give Surgery Grand Rounds on peripheral vascular trauma March 19

Dana Nielsen, M.D., a PGY-II resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Peripheral Vascular Trauma: An Overview of the Evaluation and Evidence-based Treatment of Vascular Injury” at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, March 19.

The objectives of Dr. Nielsen’s talk are to:

  1. Identify hard and soft signs of vascular injury.
  2. Describe a systematic approach to diagnosing vascular injury.
  3. Describe how to expose commonly injured peripheral vessels.
  4. Identify basic approaches to vascular repair.
