Van De Voort to give Surgery Grand Rounds on post-intensive care syndrome on March 4

Tyler Van De Voort, M.D., will give the next Surgery Grand Rounds on Friday, March 4, 2022. Dr. Van De Voort, a fifth-year surgical resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Post-intensive care syndrome: the long-term effects of trauma and critical illness” at Sanford Medical Center Broadway in Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on March 4. All are welcome to attend.

The objectives of Dr. Van De Voort’s talk are:

  1. Describe the prevalence of post-intensive care syndrome (PICS).
  2. List techniques for reducing the risk of developing PICS.
  3. Describe the various symptoms of PICS.
  4. Discuss the roles that other members of the healthcare team have in preventing/treating PICS.

This Surgery Grand Rounds Conference, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Department of Surgery, is broadcast via video conference to many sites in North Dakota and Minnesota.
