Michelle Jorgensen presents Psychiatry Grand Rounds on eating disorders June 16

Michelle Jorgensen, M.D., will present “Medication Treatment of Eating Disorders” from 12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16. This broadcast will be held via Zoom/video conferencing. Dr. Jorgensen is a Fargo-based clinical assistant professor in the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences and the medical director of inpatient eating disorders/partial hospital eating disorders, plus an adult inpatient psychiatrist, at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize DSM V criteria for diagnosis of eating disorders in daily practice to aid in identification of patients requiring treatment.
  • Apply evidence-based pharmacotherapy to inform treatment of patients with eating disorder.
  • Evaluate evidence-based therapy or psychopharmacology for their patients with eating disorders to aid with appropriate referrals.

This Grand Rounds presentation, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the School’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, is broadcast via video conference to many sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota and is also streamed via personal computers.
