Staff news: New staff, a spate of retirements, and a new title for Terry Nelson

Here’s a round-up of some of the latest faculty- and staff-related news from the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences:

  • Terry Nelson has seen a recalssification in his position title. The former Associate Director of Budget and Facility Management will now be known as the Director of Budget and Facility Management. Congratulations, Terry!
  • The end of the fiscal year (June 30) often brings with it many retirements from the School. Recent retirements from the SMHS include Dr. Mark Koponen, teaching associate professor based in Education Resources, Dr. Susan Jeno, professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Deb West, administrative assistant and educational support specialist at the SMHS Southwest Campus in Bismarck, and Dr. Jim Roerig, a longtime professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science. All dedicated much of their careers to UND and they will be missed for sure!
  • Finally, the SMHS has either welcomed or will be welcoming more than a dozen new faculty and staff recently. Watch for brief “welcome” stories on these newest members of the SMHS family in upcoming editions of For Your Health.
