Curto to give Surgery Grand Rounds talk on bariatric surgery Aug. 12

Eric Curto, M.D., will give the next Surgery Grand Rounds talk on emergencies in bariatric surgery on Friday, Aug. 12. Dr. Curto will present the talk at the UND Medical Education Center in Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

After completion of the program, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the most common surgical weight-loss procedures performed in the current era of weight-loss surgery, and understand the anatomical changes for each.
  2. Define the indications for bariatric surgery and describe its potential benefits.
  3. Be able to recognize the signs and symptoms for common complications following bariatric surgeries and explain their associated treatments.
