Lejla Gasevic presents on decision-making for next Psychiatry Grand Rounds Oct. 19
For the next Psychiatry Grand Rounds, Lejla Gasevic, M.D., will present “Decision Making Capacity” from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022. This broadcast will be held via Zoom/video conferencing. Dr. Gasevic is a fourth-year resident in the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Robert J. Olson, M.D., director of the Psychiatry Residency Training Program in the SMHS Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and a psychiatrist at Sanford Health in Fargo, will serve as Dr. Gasevic’s discussant.
Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:
- Compare and contrast terms “capacity” and “competence.”
- Identify elements of capacity.
- Become familiar with most common formal decision-making capacity tools.
- Identify appropriate decision-making capacity consults.
