Uthe to discuss opioid use disorder at next Neurology Grand Rounds on Jan. 12
For the next Neurology Grand Rounds, from 12:15 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, Craig Uthe, M.D., will give a presentation entitled “Opioid Use Disorders Defined.”
The meeting will be held in person at the Brain & Spine Clinic, 2301 25th St. S. in Fargo, Conf. Rm 1 and Conf. Rm. SMCF 6A, and via Webex (Meeting no./access code: 185 265 6391 | Password: jN7cBPmXv93).
The purpose of the presentation is to help participants:
- Know the three health components to address in every encounter with patients on continuous opioids.
- Be familiar with the DSM-5 criteria for defining Substance Use Disorders and Addiction.
- Understand the difference in opioid prescribing recommendations for acute pain, post-op pain, and chronic pain.
