2023 Open Educational Resource (OER) grant proposals open

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are teaching, learning, and research works that are made available for free use by others. OERs include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge.

UND students have saved over $10.8 million from Fall 2015 through Spring 2020 via the adoption of OERs. With generous support from UND Student Government, the University Senate OER Committee will be awarding a minimum of six grants of $3,000 for the creation and adoption of an OER. All UND faculty and instructors are invited to apply for one of these grants by Feb. 28, 2023. To apply, complete the online 2023 UND OER Grant application, which requires the attachment of a letter of support from the chair of your department. If you are interested in creating a textbook, please contact Brittany Fischer (Scholarly Communications Librarian, Chester Fritz Library) to discuss additional funding opportunities.

Teaching, Learning and Scholarship (TLAS) instructional designers and SMHS librarians are here to consult and assist any School of Medicine & Health Sciences faculty who are interested in applying for this opportunity and/or developing OERs! Please reach out to Adrienne Salentiny (TLAS; Director of Instructional Design and Technology) or Erika Johnson (Head of Library Resources) to set up a consultation.
