Call for Abstracts: Frank Low Research Day to be held April 13

Students, faculty, and staff in the basic sciences, health sciences, and all clinical departments are encouraged to participate in the 44th Annual Frank Low Research Day (FLRD), to be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the SMHS in Grand Forks.

This year’s FLRD will be an in-person event, but will include an option for remote participation. All persons planning to attend Frank Low Research Day either in-person or remotely must register online. Those wanting to submit an abstract for either a poster presentation or short video presentation on are required to submit your abstract online.

In-person presenters will be given the option for a traditional poster presentation or a short video presentation (10 minutes or fewer) while remote participants will need to submit a short video presentation. Instructions for creating and uploading the video will be provided via email to those participants selecting the “video” option.

The deadline for registering and submitting abstracts is Tuesday, March 28, 2023. No abstracts will be accepted after that date.

The abstract (2500-character limit) should contain the following information: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, and Significance (however, headings in these categories do not need to be provided in the abstract unless this is a typical abstract style in your field of research). Please follow the instructions carefully, especially regarding authorship. Only the first author or one of the first authors should submit an abstract to avoid duplication. Additional authors should only register if they are attending the meeting.

Due to the large number of abstracts/presentations, a Review Panel will evaluate all abstracts and select “Abstracts of Distinction” wherein presentations associated with these selected abstracts will be evaluated by judges. Awards will be given for best posters/presentations in several categories, but only student/trainee first authors are eligible to compete for awards.

Please visit the FLRD webpage for more information and updates. If you have questions, please contact Kristina Olofsson at 701.777.2516 or by email (kristina.olofsson@UND.edu).
