Michael Bouton to discuss breast cancer surgery for Surgery Grand Rounds on March 10

Michael Bouton, M.D., a clinical professor in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Breast Cancer Surgery: Management of the Axilla for Breast Cancer” at Sanford Health – Broadway in Fargo, N.D., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, March 10.

The objectives of the talk are to help participants:

  • Recall the surgical anatomy of the axilla.
  • Recognize various operations for evaluating axillary nodal involvement with breast cancer.
  • Distinguish when to use various operations for evaluation of nodal involvement in breast cancer.
  • Recognize that the maximal management of breast cancer requires a multidisciplinary, individualized approach; and joint informed decision making with the patient.
