Kasey Johnson to discuss narrative psychiatry at Psychiatry Grand Rounds on Aug. 7
For the next Psychiatry Grand Rounds, Kasey Johnson, D.O., will present “Narrative Psychiatry: Transformational Healing Through Narrative Practice” from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7. This broadcast will be held via Zoom/video conferencing.
Dr. Johnson is a third-year resident in the UND Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Bradley Lewis, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of health humanities and cultural studies at New York University’s (NYU) Gallatin School of Individualized Study and affiliated professor in the NYU Departments of Psychiatry and Social and Cultural Analysis, will serve as Dr. Johnson’s discussant.
Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:
- Explain the influence of narrative medicine and narrative therapy on the emergence of narrative psychiatry.
- Examine the role of narrative psychiatry in addressing the social determinants of mental health.
- Discuss how to incorporate narrative psychiatry into clinical practice.
