RESCHEDULED: GWEP pickleball event in Grand Forks on Feb. 11

Faculty and staff are invited to an interprofessional pickleball event hosted by the Dakota Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) group on Feb. 11, 2026.

Funded through a grant from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the UND-led GWEP group seeks to strengthen healthcare for older adults in the Dakotas through collaborative and inter-professional education.

To that end, the GWEP “Olympic IPE” pickleball event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Play It! Multisport Complex, 2767 32nd Ave. S. in Grand Forks, on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Partnering with the SMHS on the original GWEP were the North Dakota State Division on Aging Services and Health Promotion, UND’s Center for Rural Health, Good Samaritan Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Memory Café, North Dakota State University, and South Dakota State University. Joining this list of partners since the grant was renewed include the University of South Dakota, Indian Health Service (IHS), and Spirit Lake Nation.
