MLS faculty present work at ASCLS annual Clinical Laboratory Educators’ Conference
Faculty in the UND Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) were selected to present their work at the annual Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference (CLEC), held Feb. 5-7, 2026, in Bellevue, Wash.
Dr. Shannon Jongeward, Heather Langerud, Karen Peterson, and Dr. Samantha Peterson delivered a presentation entitled “Simulate to Educate: Transforming MLS Learning Environments.” The presentation focused on the team’s work with simulation in various settings and disciplinary areas in MLS Education.
CLEC is the only conference singularly devoted to medical laboratory education, and is described by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) as the “most important annual event for faculty, administrators, directors, advisers and others in clinical laboratory science education.” More than 500 educators from across the nation attend CLEC annually.
