OLI to offer professional development session on prompt-writing for generative AI

Join the Office of Learning Innovation (OLI) on May 20 for its professional development session “How to Get What You Need from Tools like ChatGPT (Hint: You’re Probably Doing it Wrong).”

Join virtually from noon to 1 p.m. (Central) on May 20, 2026. If prompted for a passcode, enter “UND.”

This session will explore how to craft prompts that enable generative AI tools to deliver appropriate results in the correct context and for the right audiences. While not required, participants are encouraged to come prepared with some ideas for prompts they would like to try in the generative AI tool of their choice.

If you have any questions about this topic or would like to discuss future meeting topics, please contact Adrienne Salentiny (adrienne.salentiny@UND.edu) or Richard Van Eck (richard.vaneck@UND.edu).

REMEMBER: TLAS is now OLI! As of 2026, Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (TLAS) has transitioned into a new office called the Office of Learning Innovation (OLI). Like TLAS, OLI is devoted to schoolwide instructional design, faculty development, and educational scholarship.

Previous sessions may be streamed at any time from the OLI website.
