Singhal speaks at American Association for Cancer Research conference on health disparities and medically underserved populations
Sandeep Singhal, Ph.D., associate professor in the SMHS Department of Pathology, is back at UND after presenting at the annual American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) conference, which took place last week in Los Angeles, Calif.
Founded in 1907, the AACR is the world’s oldest association for cancer research and remains dedicated to advancing cancer research and its application in cancer prevention. The theme of last week’s conference was health disparities in cancer diagnoses, treatment, and research in the U.S. and beyond.
Dr. Singhal spoke on “inclusive biomarkers” and bridging racial gaps in oncology as part of a plenary session entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Addressing Cancer Disparities.”
Dr. Singhal studies racial disparities in cancer and explores multi-omics biomarkers to improve prediction of response to treatment in cancer patients.
More information on the conference, and the AACR, can be found on the AACR website.
