The goal of the pilot program is to provide support to the most promising and novel biomedical research projects and help investigators obtain data necessary for successful investigator-initiated extramural grants. Successful applicants will receive up to $50,000 for a one-year project. For the purposes of this program, biomedical research includes basic, translational, epidemiologic, and\/or clinical studies. Proposed projects can be submitted by faculty at the UND SMHS and\/or at UND SMHS-affiliated institutions. If you have any questions regarding whether you and\/or your biomedical research project is eligible for this program, you are encouraged to contact Kristina Olofsson at <a href=\"mailto:kristina.olofsson@UND.edu\">kristina.olofsson@UND.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mailpoet_wp_post\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proposals can be submitted by investigators who hold a faculty appointment at the UND SMHS.<\/li>\n<li>The PI must be eligible to apply for NIH funds.<\/li>\n<li>The biomedical research can be basic, translational, epidemiologic, and\/or clinical.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"mailpoet_wp_post\"><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023<\/p>\n<p class=\"mailpoet_wp_post\"><strong>Earliest Funding Start Date:<\/strong> July 2023<\/p>\n<p class=\"mailpoet_wp_post\"><strong>Funds Available:<\/strong> Depending on funding and the merit of the proposals, we anticipate being able to fund at least two proposals up to $50,000 each.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mailpoet_wp_post\"><strong>See your UND email from Kristina Olofsson for more information.
