In 2026, the summer conference is being reimagined. The conference will take a stronger look at leadership, workforce, and innovation happening throughout rural communities in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Comprised of four partner organizations, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/\">University of North Dakota (UND) Center for Rural Health<\/a><\/strong> (CRH), the <a href=\"https:\/\/cnpd.und.edu\/\"><strong>UND College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines<\/strong>,<\/a> the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/\">North Dakota Rural Health Association<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altru.org\/\">Altru Health System<\/a><\/strong>, the 2026 conference will have a focus on three areas: leadership\/administration, workforce, and innovation in practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The conference will take place in Grand Forks at the Alerus Center, on June 3-4, 2026,<\/strong> and will feature three keynotes, 21 breakout sessions, poster presentations, time to visit with industry exhibitors, a legislative panel, and an awards program. The reconfiguration of the conference is in response to surveys sent to past participants and exhibitors that were distributed this past summer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The partner organizations have diligently listened, learned, and reimagined the 2026 Dakota Conference on Rural Health to continue meeting attendee needs,&#8221; said <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/staff\/nicole-threadgold\">Nicole Threadgold<\/a><\/strong>, the CRH grant program director who is overseeing the coordination of the conference. &#8220;We are excited for the new format and refined focus, and look forward to seeing everyone in Grand Forks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Call for Presentations<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/dakota-conference\/call-for-presentations\"><strong>call for presentations<\/strong><\/a> opened on Dec. 2, and will run through Jan. 9, 2026, at 5 p.m. (Central). Session topics may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creative strategies<\/li>\n<li>Diverse populations<\/li>\n<li>Financing<\/li>\n<li>Prevention<\/li>\n<li>Professional development<\/li>\n<li>Quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to be able to facilitate the Dakota Conference on Rural Health,\u201d added Jacob Warren, director of CRH, \u201cand be a part of bringing new ideas, best practices, and innovative ideas to rural health professionals across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Registration<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/dakota-conference\/attending\"><strong>Attendee registration<\/strong><\/a> is now open with an early bird discount available. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ruralhealth.und.edu\/dakota-conference\/sponsorship\">Exhibiting registration<\/a><\/strong> will open on December 16, with a variety of levels and benefits.
