Of those 15 faculty, four are based at the UND School of Medicine &amp; Health Sciences (SMHS)!<\/p>\n<p>The four SMHS faculty are: Holly Brown-Borg, Ph.D., Colin Combs, Ph.D., Eric Johnson, M.D., and Eric Murphy, Ph.D.<\/p>\n<p>Compiled by a research team led by Stanford University scholar John P. A. Ioannidis in partnership with the scientific publishing company Elsevier, the annual list identifies the world\u2019s most cited scientists using a comprehensive set of bibliometric indicators drawn from Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.<\/p>\n<p>The ranking places researchers in the top two percent of their respective disciplines based on the influence of their published research.<\/p>\n<p>For UND, the recognition of 15 faculty members, more than a quarter of whom are SMHS faculty, reflects the University\u2019s growing international footprint in research and scholarship across multiple disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis distinguished group of scholars provides a clear demonstration of the impact of UND\u2019s research worldwide,\u201d said Scott Snyder, vice president for Research &amp; Economic Development at UND.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir emphasis on discovery sets new boundaries of knowledge and provides new solutions to society.
