Dr. McDonald is a PGY-II resident in the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Dr. Danial Sturgill, a clinical assistant professor of psychology and psychotherapy and psychologist with Sanford Health in Moorhead, Minn., will serve as Dr. McDonald&#8217;s discussant.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define key terms for transgender patients such as gender terms, identity, and nonconformity,<\/li>\n<li>Describe the psychosocial and other health care disparities and barriers to care for transgender people,<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate behaviors in the clinical setting that exhibit respect and promote a safe and inclusive environment,<\/li>\n<li>Identify health care provider considerations and standards of care for transgender individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Grand Rounds presentation, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine &amp; Health Sciences and the School\u2019s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, is broadcast via videoconference to many sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota and is also streamed via personal computers.
