Dr. Glidewell is a second-year resident in the UND Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Patti Senn, MS, LPCC, LMAC, MAC, a lead supervisor of the Substance Use Disorder Unit at Southeast Human Services and clinical instructor at the UND School of Medicine &amp; Health Sciences, will service as Dr. Glidewell\u2019s discussant.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of this program, the learner will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss prevalence and the biological model of addiction.<\/li>\n<li>Define stigma and some of the different forms stigma takes.<\/li>\n<li>Differentiate the language of addiction versus stigmatizing language.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss strategies to combat stigma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Grand Rounds presentation, sponsored by the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the School\u2019s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, is broadcast via videoconference to many sites throughout North Dakota and Minnesota and is also streamed via personal computers.
