SRT repairs and construction

Personnel from CassiCorp, makers of the Small Radio Telescope, will visit the UND Observatory on the week of July 7 to assess and repair the Small Radio Telescope. Recent testing has shown that the SRT is experiencing several technical issues, including a possibly bad controller.

Also, construction of Internet Observatory #3 continues. The pier was installed on June 30 and the mount and optical tube will be installed on the week of July 21.

Two additional computers for the observatory will arrive the week of July 7 with one being used for Internet Observatory #2 and the other as a backup.

The UND Observatory is planning to have all of its facilities operational and open for display by August 1.
