Letter of Agreement Between UND and American Eagle

American Eagle recognizes the quality of training the University of North Dakota provides and the airline-ready pilots the program produces. American Eagle Airlines agrees to guarantee interviews, provided American Eagle Airlines is interviewing, to pilots graduated from the University of North Dakota who meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science/Aviation
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A.
  • FAA Commercial pilot or ATP certificate with Multi-engine and Instrument ratings
  • FAA First Class Medical
  • 500 hours total flight time (Does not include simulator)
  • 75 hours multi-engine (Does not include simulator)
  • 250 hours PIC (Does not include simulator)
  • Advanced Aircraft Operations Course
  • Recommendation from the University of North Dakota Aviation Department

Applicants who interview with American Eagle Airlines under this agreement must meet the same standards for employment as other candidates of American Eagle Airlines. Each applicant must pass all phases of the recruitment process, including the human resources interview, technical interview, simulator evaluation, final review, and company physical.

Applicants who successfully complete American Eagle Airline’s recruitment process may be offered employment based on American Eagles hiring needs at the time of interview. Although American Eagle forecasts pilot hiring to continue for the foreseeable future, economic conditions can change hiring requirements. American Eagle Airlines and the University of North Dakota will maintain close coordination on current overall trends in training and the progress from the University of North Dakota bridge program participants.
