Next Analog Habitat Mission Plans Underway

Dr. de León and a team of Space Studies graduate students are planning the fourth Inflatable Lunar-Mars Analog Habitat (ILMAH) mission, which will feature the new Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Plant Production modules built as part of an EPSCoR grant. This mission will last two weeks and include simulated EVAs and high-altitude balloon launches with radiosonde payloads that will gather telemetric information about the atmospheric conditions above the ILMAH. Three UND students will be selected for the crew, with others supporting the mission as mission control and scientific/technical support specialists for the wide variety of experiments being performed. These studies focus on the different facets of human performance and use of technology in analog environments.
