Kent Lovelace – Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor Award

Congratulations to Kent Lovelace on receiving the Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor Award! Kent started as a flight instructor in 1977 with the University of North Dakota. He was named Chair of the Aviation Department in 1994 until 2014 when he assumed his new role as Director of Airline Industry Relations where he established innovative Career Pathway Programs for our enrolled students. Under Kent’s leadership in 2009 the first B.S. degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems in the world was started as well as the Master’s degree in Aviation and Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Sciences. Kent Lovelace is truly deserving of this award with his stellar 38 year career as a Professor to UND.
