SciGirls in Space! Summer Camp, June 2022

The NASA North Dakota Space Grant Consortium (NDSGC) is excited to host a FREE summer program for girls going into 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Participants will get hands-on with space science activities and work in teams on engaging projects. Activities will include: stomp rocket missions, spacecraft simulator flights, UND space suit laboratory exploration, interviews with female STEM role models, and much more! Families will be invited to the final closing session, where projects will be shared and a NASA role model will speak.
What: “SciGirls in Space!” Summer Camp
Who: 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls or underrepresented genders interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). (Students must entering these grades in the fall 2022 academic year).
Where: University of North Dakota campus, School of Aerospace | Grand Forks, ND
Session dates: June 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2022

From SciGirls: “SciGirls in Space looks to create space science experiences for girls that will broaden their STEM participation, build positive STEM identity, and increase understanding of scientific concepts, while exploring the wonder and scientific adventures occurring at NASA centers across the nation.
Programs will feature girls partnering with NASA women role models to explore the science of microgravity, lunar and Mars exploration, and more! Participating middle school-aged girls and their families will have the chance to engage with NASA-aligned SciGirls activities and interact with NASA women role models to learn more about space science career paths.”
Spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. After the first 20 sign-ups, we will create a waitlist.
Snacks will be provided, no meals.
