Internal Medicine Residency Program announces Jennifer Raum as new Program Director

Jennifer Raum, M.D., has been named the new program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, effective July 1, 2020.

The announcement was made by UND’s Department of Internal Medicine Chair Dinesh Bande, M.D., this week.

“The recruitment process began in February of this year,” said Dr. Bande. “A Search Committee reviewed applications and brought forward four candidates to interview with two panels representing the institutions affiliated with our residency program–UND, the VA Medical Center in Fargo, and Sanford Health Fargo. It is my pleasure to announce that Dr. Raum was endorsed as the next Program Director.”

Jennifer Raum received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She completed residency training at Georgetown University and served as Chief Resident at the Georgetown University/VA Medical Center, Washington, D.C. She obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Dr. Raum joined Sanford Health in 2007 and is currently the chief of service for Internal Medicine, medical director of the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic, and a staff physician. She joined the UND Department of Internal Medicine in 2007 and is currently a clinical associate professor of medicine and core faculty member.

“Once again I would like to thank former program director Dr. David Theige for his committed leadership of the residency program for the past 16 years,” Dr. Bande added. “I am pleased that Dr. Theige is continuing with Sanford as a GME Director of Sanford Enterprise.”
