OT honor society to host stroke workshop with Dr. Emily Kringle Oct. 12

The Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE) occupational therapy honor society will host an in-service event on health promotion among stroke survivors on Monday, Oct. 12 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At this virtual event, Dr. Emily Kringle will give a presentation entitled “Meaningful Daily Activities for Health: Reducing Sedentary Behavior after Stroke.”

Emily Kringle, Ph.D., OTR/L, is a rehabilitation scientist with a clinical background in occupational therapy. She is a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Academic Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Kringle is a proud UND alumna (OT ’10). She earned her doctorate in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on health promotion among underserved populations with stroke. She also explores the influence of social and contextual factors on post-stroke sedentary behavior and engagement in meaningful daily activities.
