Eric Curto to give Surgery Grand Rounds on adrenal incidentalomas Nov. 13
Eric Curto, M.D., a PGY-III resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Management of Adrenal Incidentalomas” at Altru Health System in Grand Forks from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The objectives of Dr. Curto’s talk are to help learners:
- Utilize the proper imaging modalities and recognize the key imaging features relevant when evaluating an adrenal incidentaloma.
- Identify the layers of the adrenal gland and their function as it relates to the biochemical workup for an adrenal incidentaloma.
- Describe the indication for adrenalectomy in an adrenal incidentaloma and briefly discuss the surgical approaches and the situations in which they should be utilized.
- Be able to summarize the potential syndromes and mutations associated with pheochromocytoma and be able to preoperatively prepare and manage a patient with a pheochromocytoma.
