Eric Curto to give Surgery Grand Rounds on adrenal incidentalomas Nov. 13

Eric Curto, M.D., a PGY-III resident in the UND Department of Surgery, will present a talk entitled “Management of Adrenal Incidentalomas” at Altru Health System in Grand Forks from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The objectives of Dr. Curto’s talk are to help learners:

  1. Utilize the proper imaging modalities and recognize the key imaging features relevant when evaluating an adrenal incidentaloma.
  2. Identify the layers of the adrenal gland and their function as it relates to the biochemical workup for an adrenal incidentaloma.
  3. Describe the indication for adrenalectomy in an adrenal incidentaloma and briefly discuss the surgical approaches and the situations in which they should be utilized.
  4. Be able to summarize the potential syndromes and mutations associated with pheochromocytoma and be able to preoperatively prepare and manage a patient with a pheochromocytoma.
