Professor Kimberly Dasse Leads UCW+ Fall Mentoring Program on Networking at the North Dakota Museum of Art

An evening of connection, conversation, and community led by UCW+ faculty and campus leaders

Professor Kimberly Dasse welcomes attendees.

As Faculty Co-lead for UCW+, Professor Kimberly Dasse led the fall mentoring program focused on networking and relationship-building in today’s professional landscape. The event, Networking in the Age of Social Media: An Examination of New and Old Techniques, took place last Fall at the North Dakota Museum of Art and brought together approximately 45 participants for an engaging and interactive evening.

The program welcomed President Armacost, who opened the event with inspiring remarks on the importance of networking and professional connection. Anna Arnar, curator of the museum, introduced the current exhibit, which provided a striking and creative backdrop for the evening’s activities. Danny Schindele, Career Development Coordinator with UND Career Services, then led a thoughtful discussion on building meaningful professional relationships in today’s hybrid world of social media and in-person networking.

The evening began with remarks from the speakers and concluded with a cocktail reception designed to put newly learned networking strategies into practice. Set within the art-filled atmosphere of the museum, participants were encouraged to make ten new connections while enjoying a wonderful spread of food and drink—including sake cocktails prepared by John Cho of the museum.

The event successfully combined professional development with hands-on practice, leaving attendees energized, connected, and better equipped to navigate networking in both digital and face-to-face environments.
