Andriana Longwell Named ACS Next Generation Leader

University of North Dakota School of Law Student Recognized for Leadership, Service, and Commitment to the Law

Second-year law student Andriana Longwell has been selected as a 2026 Next Generation Leader by the American Constitution Society (ACS), a national honor recognizing rising law students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, commitment, and engagement within their chapters and communities.

Each year, ACS selects a small group of students from nearly 200 chapters nationwide through a highly competitive application process. Those chosen as Next Generation Leaders have demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization’s mission, along with outstanding leadership potential and a record of meaningful involvement.

Andriana’s selection reflects her impactful work as a student chapter leader, the strength of her application, and a compelling recommendation from Professor Cook. Her dedication to advancing the values of ACS and fostering community engagement set her apart among an impressive pool of applicants.

Launched in 2007, the Next Generation Leaders program supports law students who have shown exceptional leadership in their ACS chapters. Participants gain access to exclusive career development resources, mentorship opportunities, and a national network of legal professionals. These experiences are designed to help students further develop their leadership skills and make a lasting impact in their communities and the legal profession.

In announcing the 2026 class, ACS President Phil Brest praised the selected students, noting their potential to become transformational leaders in the legal field and their shared commitment to using the law as a force for good.

Next Generation Leaders play a vital role in the broader ACS network. Many go on to serve as chapter leaders, mentors, and advocates, contributing to progressive legal change across the country as attorneys, judges, policymakers, academics, and public servants.

Andriana Longwell joins 22 other law students from institutions across the nation as part of the 2026 cohort. Among this distinguished group, one student will be selected to serve a two-year term as a student member of the ACS Board of Directors.

This recognition highlights not only Andriana’s accomplishments to date but also her promising future in the legal profession. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment to service embody the values of ACS and the next generation of legal changemakers.

The University of North Dakota School of Law community proudly celebrates Andriana’s achievement and looks forward to her continued impact.
