UND Law Faculty Honored at Endowed Faculty Celebration
Four members of the University of North Dakota School of Law were recognized during UND’s recent Endowed Faculty Celebration

The Endowed Faculty Celebration, honors faculty members who hold newly endowed positions and the donors who support their work. Jennifer Cook and Nikola Datzov were recognized as Law School Builders of the Profession Professors, while Margaret Moore Jackson was honored as the Randy H. Lee Professor of Law.
The celebration also honored the legacy of Kirsten Dauphinais, longtime School of Law professor and holder of the Law School Builders of the Profession Professorship, who died this summer. Randi Tanglen, vice provost for Faculty Affairs, recognized Dauphinais for her contributions as an educator, mentor and scholar, and for the lasting impact she had on students and colleagues.
The luncheon, hosted by the UND Alumni Association & Foundation, marks a new tradition at UND and will be held every other year to recognize newly endowed faculty while celebrating all faculty who hold endowed positions. UND now has 71 endowed faculty positions.
Julia Ernst, Floyd B. Sperry Professor of Law, provided remarks at the celebration, sharing how support from her endowed professorship has advanced her research and teaching.

“I’m extremely grateful to the Floyd B. Sperry Endowment funding,” Ernst said, noting that endowed positions enable professors to purchase materials, provide resources for teaching and mentorship, and create opportunities to share their scholarship.
During the celebration, UND leaders emphasized the broader impact of endowed faculty positions on research, students, and the University.
The event concluded with the presentation of medallions and drapes to the newly endowed faculty members.
The School of Law congratulates Cook, Datzov, and Moore Jackson on this significant recognition and honors Dauphinais’ enduring contributions to UND Law and the legal profession.
