\"\"<\/a>UND Law alumnus Andrew Askew has joined Essentia Health as vice president of public policy. Askew will be responsible for Essentia\u2019s government relations and public policy strategy for North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also will bring Essentia\u2019s voice to national health care policy conversations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Askew worked for several years alongside the late Mike Mahoney, who previously held the position. Askew served as a lobbyist and member of the public policy team focused on North Dakota issues while working as an attorney at Pearce Durick in Bismarck, N.D.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIn his new role, Andy will expand upon that work as he forges trusting relationships on a broader scale,\u201d said Essentia CEO David C. Herman, MD. \u201cI appreciate Andy\u2019s passion and enthusiasm for public policy work and the opportunity to support Essentia\u2019s mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

His office will be located in St. Paul.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Askew received his law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks, N.D. He also received a bachelor\u2019s degree in English from the University of North Dakota and a bachelor\u2019s degree in business management from St. Cloud State University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Askew joins Pat Mullen on Essentia\u2019s public policy team, who also serves as vice president of public policy with a focus on Essentia\u2019s city and county relationships as part of the Vision Northland project.<\/p>\n
