Missing license plates on your vehicle? Here is what you need to know.
Have you recently purchased a new car or had to order new plates for your vehicle?
If your vehicle does not have an official, DMV issued license plate, UND asks that the last 8-digits (numbers and letters) of your vehicles VIN number be used in lieu of a license plate. When adding your vehicle to your account and permit, select ‘Missing Plate’ as the “State/Province” for the plate, and enter the last 8-digits of your VIN in the “Plate Number” section. Please be sure to also add the new vehicle entry to your permit after adding it to your account.
If you are driving a rental car, do not add the vehicle to your account through the parking portal. Please call our office and have us add it for you.
