The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Retention (OTRR) within the UND College of Education & Human Development will host an informational and interactive event for what they hope will be the next generation of teachers.

The event, called See Education in Action, or SEA OTRR Day, will take place on Monday, March 6 on the UND campus.

Monte Gaukler, OTRR’s Outreach Specialist, created the half-day event specifically for North Dakota and Minnesota high school juniors and seniors contemplating a career in education.

Planned events for SEA OTRR Day include a welcome from OTRR Director Ashley Smalley, interaction with the Future Educators of UND student organization, tours of campus dorms and the Education building, engagement with CEHD faculty, as well as lunch and remarks from Ivona Todorovic, a UND graduate and North Dakota’s 2023 Teacher of the Year.

SEA OTRR Day is open to high school juniors and seniors from across the region. The event is free, including lunch, but registration is required no later than Monday, Feb. 27.

Interested schools and other parties may contact Monte Gaukler at monte.gaukler@UND.edu for additional information or to register.
