The UND Nistler College of Business and Public Administration (CoBPA) is excited to host the 4th annual Be Bold UND Women in Leadership Summit on Thursday, April 11 at the UND Memorial Union small ballroom from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This summit was developed through the passion and ideas brought forward by UND alumna Mary Fischer. It was built off the legacy of the Hultberg Lectureship Series, which was established thirty-six years ago with a gift provided by 1928 UND graduate Clara E. Anderson (Hultberg), who had an interest in addressing challenges and creating opportunities for women in business and public service.

The Hultberg Lectureship has brought hundreds of female leaders and alumnae back to campus to share their expertise and insights with the next generation of leaders through panel discussions and classroom visits.

The 2024 Be Bold UND Women in Leadership Summit will be moderated by Fischer and feature three distinguished panelists: Kristi Hall-Jiran, executive vice president and chief philanthropy and partnership officer at Altru Health System; Julie Fedorchak, UND alumna and commissioner of the ND Public Service Commission; and Sarah Horak, UND alumna, co-owner and CFO of three hospitality businesses in Grand Forks and founder of Real Good Cookies.

Following the panel and luncheon, a fireside chat will be held with UND alumna Jill Sando, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Apparel & Accessories and Home & Hardlines for Target.

Sando is responsible for all buying across the company’s discretionary categories. She oversees the product design and packaging team, and plays a critical role in reimagining Target’s multi-billion dollar owned brand portfolio.

The overall event will focus on how to be bold, dream big and the power of one. These critical topics will be explored with the young professionals preparing for the workforce.

This event is invitation based, with student nominations from Nistler College faculty and staff. Media parties interested in attending may contact Laura Arneson, director of external relations in the dean’s office of the CoBPA, for details.
