Northfield, Minn., native named University of North Dakota’s Certified Flight Instructor of the Month

Evelyn Jordan, a native of Northfield, Minnesota, has been named the University of North Dakota’s Certified Flight Instructor of the Month for September.

Jordan, who graduated from UND in December 2025 with a degree in commercial aviation, holds Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFII) and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) certificates.

Jordan was nominated for the recognition by a student who praised her commitment to helping students succeed and stay on track with their flight training.

“Evelyn Jordan is a great CFI who really cares about her students. She does a great job moving things around and working students into her schedule whenever possible, making sure they can get flights in and stay on track with their training.

“What stands out most about Evelyn is the effort she puts into each student. She goes beyond simply completing the required training and makes sure her students understand the material, are prepared for their flights and continue building their knowledge and skills. Her dedication and professionalism make her stand out as a CFI at UND.”

Jordan said her experiences as a student and flight instructor have given her several highlights during her time at UND.

“Some of the most positive aspects of my time at UND have been being the president of the UND WAI chapter, getting my MEI and teaching multi students, and holding a leadership position in standards,” Jordan said.

Jordan plans to leave UND in the coming months to begin flying for Envoy.
