OMB Uniform Guidance Proposed Updates

As you may have seen, OMB has released an updated Regulation for Federal Financial Assistance. COGR, AAU, and APLU have jointly developed OMB Proposed Rule on Uniform Guidance: Immediate Considerations for Research Institutions. This high-level brief highlights five key issues UND is considering now as we evaluate the proposal, outlining several areas that may have significant implications for the administration, oversight, and conduct of federally funded research.

COGR has requested an extension of the public comment period given the breadth of the proposal and limited review period. COGR has also prepared a redline reference document comparing the proposed regulatory text to the current regulations, to assist institutions in their review.
