UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences Research News

Welcome to Research Matters!

Before the diagnostic tests and prescription medications, before the vaccinations and preventive procedures, biomedical research helped determine how to best keep the human body healthy.

Research is at the heart of healthcare. This is why the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences dedicates so much time and energy to researching the causes and cures of the many health problems affecting North Dakotans.

Every single day.

Over the past several years, our School has brought more than $125 million to North Dakota to study cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, influenza and obesity.

Plus many other conditions.

To better communicate all of this to the world – and to help keep researchers, students, and community partners of all types on the same page – the School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS) is launching the Research Matters blog and newsletter.

Over the next months and years, this newsletter will serve as a hub for biomedical research news and information coming out of the SMHS.

That means you can look to Research Matters not only for news on the latest biomedical research relevant to area researchers, but faculty publications and project awards, requests for proposals, facility and technology updates, and much more.

So take a moment to peruse the site, and don’t forget to subscribe to our monthly email newsletter.

After all, research matters.
