Sidewalk in front of University Place will be closed until Dec. 7

A section of the University Ave. sidewalk in front of University Place will be closed to allow for underground utility construction work.

Crews will start to install signage and barricades today and work will start in the next day or so. Expected completion date is Dec. 7. Crews will install barricades to close off the sidewalk (see image) as well as install barricades within the closure zone to allow for safe pedestrian access from the bus stop into U-Place and if needed around the excavation areas. Construction managers will monitor the pedestrian situation and adjust barricades as needed to ensure building access is maintained while also keeping work zones safe. Signage will be installed within University Place asking residents to use alternative entrance/exits.
