UND students invited to North Dakota Intercollegiate Band performance

Ten students from the University of North Dakota Wind Ensemble performed with the 20th annual North Dakota Intercollegiate Band this year. They joined with music students from seven other North Dakota colleges and universities in Jamestown for rehearsals and a performance Feb. 25 and 26.

Rebecca Phillips, Director of Bands at Colorado State University, served as this year’s guest conductor and clinician.

Students participating from UND were Giles Askim, tuba (Williston); Juanita Caballero, trombone (La Paz, Bolivia); Faith Dungey, horn (Issaquah, WA); Emily Huber, oboe (Fargo); Kelsi Mansfield, horn (Fountain, CO); Kylar Moltzan, percussion (Watford City); Mary Morales, tenor saxophone (Okinawa, Japan); Sophia Roehl, clarinet (Grand Forks); Bria Smithberg, baritone saxophone (Crosby); and Maya Zepeda, bass clarinet (Minot).

James Popejoy, Director of Bands at UND, accompanied the students to Jamestown for the festival and assisted with the event.
