Blackboard Ally ‘Fix Your Content’ Day is May 19

Each year, the global accessibility community unites on the third Thursday of May for Global Accessibility Awareness Day to highlight the need for more inclusive digital content. May 19 marks the annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day.

As part of our campus-wide commitment to inclusive education, we are participating in the third annual Blackboard Ally “Fix your Content Day.” On this day, we will be on a mission to fix as many accessibility issues with course files as we can. At the end of the day, the campus with the most files improved will be recognized and awarded a prize. Join us in reaching this goal and making our content more accessible for students.

How can you help? Start clicking those red and orange indicators in your Blackboard courses and improve as many files as you can. Focus on images that need a description and Word documents to start. Aim for 100% but improvement is what counts!

TTaDA will be offering a virtual hands-on session to assist you in fixing your content.  During this session, we will provide a brief overview of Blackboard Ally and what the indicators mean.  We will have staff available to help you work on fixing specific content in your course.

Date/time: Thursday, May 19, 1-2:30 p.m. Central Time
