Applications due June 15 for InternGF

The program, now in its fifth year, is brought to you by the UND Center for Innovation and the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation. InternGF is designed to increase the number of local internship offerings, aiding employers’ workforce recruitment and retention efforts by introducing UND students to career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the greater Grand Forks region.

InternGF offers up to $3,500 to offset an intern’s salary. Employers can apply for up to two internships per year.

Eligible applicants must be:

• A startup within five years of operation (eligible for 50% reimbursement of wages)
• A member organization of the Grand Forks Region EDC offering a new internship not previously created at their company. (eligible for 33% reimbursement of wages.)

Application Cycle #3 for 2022 opened June 1 and will close on June 15.

While all applications will be considered and are encouraged, you can earn preference points by:

• offering internship experiences not routinely found in the region (just a note that we receive several applications for marketing internships. We will still consider marketing, but dollars awarded for these positions are extremely competitive).
• offering an eventual pathway to employment post-internship
• being a new applicant who has not received funding recently from the InternGF program.
