UND hosting 2nd Annual Cyber Security Awareness and Research Symposium

The Center for Cyber Security Research in UND’s College of Engineering & Mines, in partnership with University Information Technology, is hosting a two-day Cyber Security Awareness and Research Symposium on Oct. 28 and 31.

This symposium is a hybrid event, with the virtual format taking place on Oct. 28. The in-person event will be Oct. 31 in the Memorial Union Ballroom.

The purpose of the Cyber Security Awareness and Research Symposium is to create awareness in cybersecurity areas in recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which is October.

This is a national-level symposium, drawing global experts in the field. As many as 150 to 200 attendees are expected at the on-campus event. Attendance is free and open to the public with registration. Spread the word to fellow friends and colleagues to educate the community about this awareness event.

For students: the Center for Cyber Security Research is inviting proposals from graduate and undergraduate students for the Collegiate Poster Competition, judged by industry leaders. Also sought are students who can volunteer during the event; all volunteers will receive a free breakfast and lunch. Those interested in volunteering can contact Prakash Ranganathan, director for the Center for Cyber Security Research, for more information.

A UND press release for the conference is available to read here.
