Vice President for Finance & Operations Karla Mongeon-Stewart has launched a search for UND’s next associate vice president for finance (AVPF).

The new AVPF will succeed Odella Fuqua, who began her role as interim associate vice president for finance on July 18, 2022.

Chairing the search committee is Mike Pieper, associate vice president for facilities.

Other committee members include:

  • Namil Choi, associate dean for administration and finance/COO, SMHS
  • Lynette Geatz, division business officer, Student Affairs
  • Laura Johnson, associate controller
  • Lauren Pite, director of grants and contracts
  • Brad Rundquist, dean, College of Arts & Sciences
  • Tom Scrivener, chief procurement officer
  • Peggy Varberg, associate vice president for human resources

Jen Rogers, special projects assistant for Finance & Operations, will serve as chief administrative officer for the search.

The committee charge includes conducting the search and submitting a recommendation to the vice president for finance and operations for consideration. The committee will ensure stakeholder groups have the opportunity to participate in the process and/or provide feedback on the finalists.

The AVPF is a key member of the senior management team of the Division of Finance & Operations, and acts as a strategic partner and advisor to the vice president for finance & operations/COO, president and provost. They are responsible for the financial leadership and oversight of the University and for the efficiency and effectiveness of its multi-faceted business operations.
