UND Staff Senate taking new Senator nominations Feb. 21 to March 15

UND staffers! We need your help!

The UND Staff Senate is taking nominations for new Senators from Feb. 21 to March 15.

The nomination form can be found online, on the Staff Senate website.

Staff Senate is one way for UND staffers to participate in the shared governance model adopted by the University and the NDUS as a unit. Senators advocate for UND and NDUS staff by supporting engagement, policy development and recognition through shared governance and collaboration with each other and UND administrators.

The Staff Senate is also the group responsible for the U-Shine Awards, the Seeds for Staff Success grant program for professional development (and its fundraising arm 31 Days of Glory) and a variety of other staff recognition meals and events throughout the year.

Staff Senate is currently comprised of elected members representing staff in all divisions as equal as possible, as follows:

  • Academic Affairs
  • Finance & Operations
  • President (includes Athletics and Energy & Environmental Research Center)
  • Research & Economic Development
  • Student Affairs
  • School of Medicine & Health Sciences
  • University & Public Affairs

An eligible member is a full-time or part-time benefited employee at UND who is off probation at the time of the nomination. Senate membership will be for a three-year term, with approximately one-third of the members elected each April. Members serve no more than two consecutive full terms (unless elected to the office of Vice President/President Elect).

Nominate either yourself or a colleague (with their permission) today.
