UND SMHS hosting High School Molecular Biology Boot Camp June 19-23

The UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences is once again hosting a one-week “Boot Camp” for high schoolers focused on molecular biology concepts and techniques June 19-23.

Funded by the National Institutes of Health North Dakota INBRE grant, this camp has been hosted on campus for several years. Rising 10th-12th graders are invited to attend.

The camp exposes participants to basic lab techniques commonly used in modern forensics, medicine and biology. Labs will explore DNA fingerprinting, GMO detection, ELISA to track disease outbreaks, bacterial transformation and biofuels.

More information and a link to apply are available on the INBRE website.
