Announcing UND’s Student Employee of the Year

Kevin Bowe is this year’s Student Employee of the Year.

Bowe is employed at the Wellness Center. His willingness to partake in campus tabling events showed his dedication to recruiting participants as well as potential new employees.

At a sled hockey event in 2023, Bowe was actively engaged and introduced activities aimed at encouraging participation among individuals with different abilities.

He demonstrated leadership by revamping training methods for his peers, fostering engagement and confidence with other employees. Bowe’s leadership has boosted staff and student employee confidence, ultimately enhancing their experiences. As a peer supervisor, he built personal connections and provided guidance, earning trust and respect.

Bowe used his critical thinking skills to implement data-driven changes to enhance the student experience. He managed staff scheduling and addressed issues as they came up.

When asked what Bowe is like, peers said he is a prime example of a great leader: he is always open to accommodating peoples’ schedules and understanding their individual situations. He is also not afraid to do the work himself and show how things are meant to be done, making him seem like a peer rather than just a boss who needs to be listened to.

Bowe is personable and creates positive relationships with those around him; he’s humorous and easy to talk to, making the job much more fun and inviting.
