It is assumed that submissions to U-Letter are intended for the week for which they are\u00a0submitted. if(e) e.parentNode.removeChild(e);})();<\/script>\n\n\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\">Eligible Content<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Eligibility for University Letter is\u00a0determined\u00a0by the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Content in University Letter must be of interest to or intended for faculty and staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Events must be approved and posted to the UND Events Calendar prior to promotion in University Letter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Donated leave requests will be published pending approval by the Director of Human Resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Information from outside organizations will be considered for publication based on the\u00a0benefit to\u00a0and\u00a0interest\u00a0of the campus community. Cultural events within the community may be included at the discretion of the editor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\">Non-Eligible Content<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The following constitutes content not eligible for University Letter:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Communication that\u00a0is relevant only to student audiences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">PDFs and flyers\/advertisements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Content\u00a0determined\u00a0by the editor to be against <a href=\"https:\/\/und.policystat.com\/policy\/19605685\/latest\/?showchanges=true\"><strong>Marketing &amp; Communications content guidelines and policy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\">Events<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Events category in U-Letter is designed to chronologically list events of relevance to faculty and staff audiences as available in the UND Events Calendar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This list is manually curated by the editor based primarily on audience tags in calendar listings. Events tagged by \u201cFaculty &amp; Staff\u201d and \u201cGeneral Public\u201d will be considered for placement\u00a0in\u00a0the list, though placement is not guaranteed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Note:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When submitting a post to promote an event, please select the \u201cAnnouncements\u201d category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Events excluded from the list include, but are not limited to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Student-only events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Academic calendar dates and deadlines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Events with no listed audience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Recurring Wellness Center activities (e.g.\u00a0classes, intramural sports).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Dining Services themed events\/meals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Events intended for\u00a0singular\u00a0College\/department audience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\">In Remembrance<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In an effort to\u00a0help keep the campus community informed, \u201cIn Remembrance\u201d publishes notices about the deaths of members of the campus community, current or retired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For those who are no longer employed or have since retired from the University, \u201cIn Remembrance\u201d posts must be requested by a family member or representative of the family for the individual, or the UND department that the individual worked for (with the permission of the family or next-of-kin).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The eventual post will link to the original obituary that has been posted by a funeral home,\u00a0newspaper\u00a0or other media outlet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cIn Remembrance\u201d is also used to carry announcements of deaths of current students,\u00a0staff\u00a0and faculty. In such cases, it is expected that the respective department will contact UND Communications and\/or the internal communications editor to help prepare a statement on behalf of UND for wide distribution prior to inclusion in University Letter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the event of a current student\u2019s death, the Division of Student Affairs will coordinate with family or next-of-kin to first determine whether to issue a statement, then produce a statement that will be distributed to the campus community by the internal communications editor, upon approval by the president. That statement will then be published in the next issue of\u00a0University\u00a0Letter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your interest in University Letter.
