this week\u2019s video address<\/a>, Armacost says to never forget the incredible sacrifices of UND servicemen and servicewomen who have given all in service to our nation.<\/p>\nThe Memorial Stadium, a tribute to the UND alumni who lost their lives in World War I, was demolished in 2021, and in its place is the soon-to-be-completed Hyslop at Memorial Village.<\/p>\n
But this year, on Veterans Day, UND plans to dedicate a new memorial at the corner of Columbia Road and Second Avenue North \u2013 near the new Memorial Village. The display of flags and stone pillars there will feature the names of those 51 alums who died in World War I, Armacost says.<\/p>\n
That same day, Nov. 11, UND will dedicate an addition to the Veterans Honor Wall area in the Memorial Union \u2013 a place reserved to memorialize the names of UND community members who\u2019ve died in service to the nation.<\/p>\n
