VIDEO: President Armacost, live from the construction zone

Latest video message promotes campus construction, summer breaks and more

For this week’s video message, President Andy Armacost offers greetings and well-wishes from the construction site of residence halls Brannon, McVey and West.

Brannon Hall is newly renovated and opening this summer, Armacost remarks, and work is underway to reconstruct McVey and West. He says the construction work, carried out by hundreds of tradespeople, is making UND a special place for students, and that they’ll experience “first-class living accommodations” on campus.

Armacost also takes time to remind the community that summer presents opportunities to take breaks, relax and spend time with family and friends. Armacost and his wife Kathy are soon traveling to see family themselves, and they encourage everyone to refresh and recharge for the semester ahead.

Armacost further offers congratulations to Karla Mongeon-Stewart, who was recently selected as UND’s new Vice President for Finance & Operations/Chief Operating Officer. Formerly Associate Vice President for Finance, Mongeon-Stewart is an extraordinary leader, tremendous person and tremendous asset to the campus community, Armacost says.

To close, Armacost invites all faculty and staff to a “Welcome Back to School” picnic at the President’s House, hosted by the Armacosts, on Thursday, August 18.
